if there are red spots on the front third of the tongue, which is associated with the Upper Burner, this indicates that there is Heat in the Lungs. If the tip of the tongue is red, that indicates Heat in the Heart.

Well, you might show and tell to your private
physician...sounds rather like an ulceration which can be treated via antibiotics or something equally simple. If the site has not shown marked changes such as increase in size or change in color during this "long time," good chance it is not malignant as most cancers involve "genes gone wild" and dramatic cellular changes. Don't quote me and by all means consult a medical professional; finding it is nothing is far less embarrassing than ignoring a chance to save yourself from further worry.

It probably isnt cancer. I had a spot on my tongue for over a month and i found out it was just a really bad sore. So dont worry about it being cancer. Go to your doctor though to have it checked out. They gave me medicine for my sore that madw the swelling go down and heal the sore within a week. It was really effective. Best of luck

For heaven's sake do not go for biopsy or something because if it is cancer it will aggravte. Before you see a homeopath because in homeopathy there are medicines to cure such sore tongue without doing biopsy and that will settle the issue. If even after 2 weeks homeopathy is not giving any relief then you can consult an allopath.

You would really need to go to a doctor to determine exactly what you have there. If it's an ulcer, you need to find the cause, or you may be facing permanent damage. If its raised, it could be a tumour, malign or benign, or some other type of growth, or even foreign material trapped beneath. Again, see a doctor.
