Everyone says "Confidence is sexy" but its hard to get anyone to tell you specifically WHY its attractive. Could you offer some opinions?

It's a primitive response to perceived competence. Both men and women are hardwired to admire someone who knows what needs to be done, and has the ability to get it done.
An exaggerated example of this is James Bond. It was said that every man wanted to be him, and every woman wanted to be with him. Why? Because there was no situation that he couldn't master. And that ability--that competence--was reflected in the way he carried himself--confident, almost to the point of arrogance.
For women, there are many advantages to being with a competent man. He's able to earn a good living, is handy around the house, and is a damn good lover. To find such a man, you look for one who projects confidence. You recognize it as "sexiness."

dats a good quest; i dont think any1 quite knows the answer but i can tell u from experience dat it really is sexy; i've been attracted to this 1 particular guy just b/c he's so confident. idk i guess what makes a 'confident' guy sexy & attractive is dat he knows what he's abt & what he wants & he's not afraid of being who he is; girls r attracted to confident guys b/c it makes them somewhat "manly" & we all know every girl likes a man who's not afraid to b in control (u kno what i mean? not the controlling type...just dat he's not afraid "of being the man in the relationship")
but there is a thin line between confidence & cocky. watch out for those....cocky guys think they r God's gift to women

The answer to this is anthropological. This was given to us evolutionarily. When we were more primitive, the most confident males and females were that way because of having been able to prove their utility in the group. They were good hunters, builders, innovators, and gave the sense that if you stick with them, you'll be safe and be provided for. If you're confident, you exude the sense that you know exactly what you're doing, you're successful, and you'll improve other people's chances of survival.

no one wants a partner that lacks self-esteem and has a abundance of insecurities
we all want someone who know who they are and are proud of it
