i was just wondering how old everyone was when they decided to get their first tattoo.my first one was technically done when i was 13 in shop class with a needle and some indian ink.lucky i didnt get a funky infection!lol.but my first "real" one was done when i was 19.

I was 36 when I got my first one, and my second, and will start a third at 37. I plan on sleeving both calves, covering my upper back, shoulders and half arm sleeves.

I got my first one when I was 23. Before then, I never really wanted a tattoo. The only reason I decided to get one was because of UV ink. I'm definitely glad I got it done. If I didn't I would have never met my girlfriend. She happened to be at the tattoo shop I went to(she was a friend of the piercing apprentice). That was Dec '04 and we're still together, and living together now. :)
Speaking of my girlfriend, she's the fourth person down from my post, lol.

I got my first tattoo at 19, but I'd wanted it for a couple years before I got it. I procrastinate well, so I can be real sure I want my tatt if I still want it when I actually get around to getting it done. XD

I wanted one since I was 12 and started drawing. I got my first one when I was 18 cuz my parents were soooo against them. I now have seven and they are all my own drawings and am saving to get another my husband and I are getting matching deer heads that he drew as a rememberance to my first buck this past fall he was bigger than any my husband had killed and any of our friends have ever gotten and well all my tats have meaning behind them like the reaend of a lion that I drew and had put on my but the day I got divorced from my first who was liing cheating a$$

I got my first tatoo when I was 30. Such a wimp. I had heard it would hurt a LOT. Turns out it hurts but not a LOT. Matter of fact I fell asleep when they were doing the tat on my left shoulderblade.
Have a few of them now---mostly flowers and dragonflys.

I was 21. I always thought they were cool but I was scared to death of needles.
Now I have 4. I actually got my fourth one today!

I received my first tattoo right after I turned 18. I actually told my mother that I was either going to get a tattoo or get my tongue pieced; her response was telling me to get the tattoo, which I promptly did.

i knew i wanted a tattoo a loooong time ago but i got my first one on my 18th birthday. i actually got my first three tattoos when i was 18 and didn't get another until i was 24 (last year) and my passion has been renewed.
