You do not use mineral oil for that. It coats the intestinal tract and prevents the absorption of nutrients into the cat's system.
First of all NO DRY FOOD. Switch to some wholesome canned meats such as Natural Balance, Lick Your Chops, Avoderm, Innova Evo, Wellness etc. I even add a tsp of filtered water to each serving of canned food.
You can try a product called Slippery Elm which you can get at a health food store in powder form to add to canned food. "One tsp. mixed into food...you should see improved bowel function in a day or two." Norman C. Ralston, DVM.

I dont know about mineral oil but virgin oil was fine. I had a sick pup and spent like $600 + on vet bills for him and all the vets said that there was nothing you could do....he would have to be put to sleep.
I cried each time and took my pup home, tried a different vet the next day. Finally, with no money left and my pup still not getting better , but getting worse, my parents started treating him with natural old remedies, virgin oil being one of them as well as pedialite, and some tea. He is still alive today and doing fine. I taught him how to kill...in case we ever see those vets again. Anyways yes, i think you can try other methods I would say some ex-lax to there was one the vet recommended i think it was ducolax or something. Just a half or small amount. The oil will cleanse her stomach to from any bacteria or harmful item.

do not use mineral oil on the cat. add a few drops of cod liver oil to kitty's food. do you feed dry food only??? let kitty have a 3-oz can of wet food every day with 3-4 drops--DROPS--of cod liver oil mixed in.this will not only help make stools pass more easily but it will also help kitty's coat be nice and soft without dandruff and brittleness. kitty also needs lots of fresh water. make sure kitty is drinking the water, also. mineral oil prevents absorption of nutrients into the kitty's system. do not use it . it is waaay too harsh for kitties.

Better to just offer her some cod liver oil she will like it, it will lubricate her bowel and she will not risk ingesting it into her lungs by you administering it to her. Also stop the dry Kibbles and give her canned food, she needs the fats and oils.

YES! Mineral oil is the main ingredient in many cat hairball remedies. But like hairball remedies, best not to make it a daily part of your pet's diet!

A tsp? She will be sh i t t ing everywhere. That is just it. You do not know how much to give. Better ask your vet for the correct dosage so you don't make your cat sick.

It's ok as long as you give it trough the anus. Use a funnel and have another person hold the cat. Good luck.
