I ran into a girl from my highschool when she was waitressing at a restaurant, anyways she recognized me and came over and talked to me for a few minutes. As she was leaving I asked her for her number which she gave me. I don't know if she's seeing anyone, so should I call her for a date cause she likes me or was she just trying to be polite and let me down easy?

hmm... tricky situation. I (and I think most girls) ordinarily wouldn't give out my number to other guys while in a relationship, but the fact that you are former acquaintances makes it a little different. There are only three possible options really: 1) she is single and interested in you 2) she is single but only gave you her number to be nice or respark the friendship or 3) she's in a relationship and gave you her number to be nice and/or be friends with you. None of these options are that bad, so just call her. You can easily steer the conversation in the right direction to learn if she is taken or not. Good luck! =]

I don't think you would want to date any girl who would give you her number while she had a boyfriend. She may truly just want to "catch up" were you close friends during high school? I guess if I were you I would ask her first if she was seeing anybody (work it into the conversation) If yes just carry on with the chit chat, and if no then there's your chance....

Give it a shot. Maybe she's having a break (of a relationship). Even if she's being polite, she can also be polite by declining your invitation in a polite way... so if she says yes, it means she likes you too.

Yes a lot of people do this male or female. Some give out their cell phone also even if they are married they use the excuse it's business.

Just call her up. And talk to her a bit, see how the weather is?

Just bring it up in convo real casually. Maybe start by saying you arent seeing anyone and see if she just jumps in and says she aint either.

If you have the number, your halfway home already.

If she was seeing anyone serious----she would have told you she was when you asked for her number-----unless she is a player.
