A PA is a professional clinician, in most cases with full prescribing privileges, who works under the supervision of an M.D. or a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy). They generally DO NOT wear scrubs unless they are of surgical specialty. Scrubs are worn in the O.R. (Operating Room). Otherwise, they typically wear the white coat that indicates they are medical professionals.
