I'm a freshman in high school, but I'm just wondering if anyone could recommend some colleges that would be good if I wanna have a career in writing.

You want a liberal arts college. Some schools with really good undergrad writing departments are - Haverford C., Sara Lawrence, Vassar, Middlebury and Bard.

These are really good schools so you want to keep your grades up and show them you are serious about writing. Contribute to your school newspaper, journals etc. Volunteer to write or edit a newsletter for an organization. Just write, write, write every chance you get.

I would look for colleges that have prestigous journalism schools. The only one I know of is Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, however, I'm sure there are quite a few!

Journalism major will allow you to take lots of various writing courses from scriptwriting to articles, news, everything.
