If you are talking about personality traits, habits or obsessions then all the positives in the world can't outweigh REALLY negative negatives.

I believe in looking at thing on the brighter side of life otherwise you get too caught up in all the negatives and it is hard to change. Wouldn't you rather be a happy cheery person who people wanted to be around rather than some gloomy, dark person that noone really wanted to be around. I know i'd prefer the happier person as the darker person would pull me down into their mood.

Yes, if there are only a very few negatives it can still weigh heavily. There's no such thing as perfection, so we all have to deal with both situations. It's the person not the thing(s) that make the difference.

I'd say it depends on your tolerance towards the negatives. If you can't tolerate them then you should think your relationship over. After all love is all about understanding and making the best of what you've got.

If the negatives are addictions, lying or cheating, then I would say that they out-weight the positives. At least that is my opinion....
