I met this amazing guy online. He really is the nicest guy I have ever talked to. I love him to death. We've talked about it and decided that we love each other but we both agree that you have to actually meet somebody to be completely "in love" with them. I really want to meet him because I think it could work. Hes only a few years older than me, but I live on the east coast and he lives on the west coast. Has anyone had something like this work? or is it just a really bad idea? I am aware of the dangers of meeting somebody that you met online, but I feel its worth the risk. Also I'm afraid to talk to my parents are friends about this, I don't know if they would understand and I don't want them to think I'm weird. I just wish he lived closer to me. Love is confusing enough without this whole online problem :(

im in the same situation only the distance is further and there are 2 countries involved --- i love her very much and the plan is for her to move and stay with me (she does not want to live in her country) --- i also have not said anything --- it can work if you are prepared to put the relationship before your beliefs --- and knowing her is worth it --- best wishes to you both

yeah that can be an unusual subject talking about it with your friends and family.......I say if you love him and he loves you nothing else should matter......there is a lot of people who are in a long distance relationship, it shouldnt be the distance that matters, it should matter how much do u love him

Get enough information to do a background check on him and lets see if he is who he said he is...Its better to be safe than sorry!

Don't be too trusting...get to know more about him and his behaviours first before meeting him...good luck!
