The old Church of Jesus Christ started with a prophet, John the Babtist. The New Church of Jesus Christ started with a prophet, Joseph Smith. The old church of Jesus Christ required laying on of hands to confer a blessing or the priesthood. The new Church of Jesus Christ requires the laying on of hands for a blessing or to confer the priesthood. The old Church of Jesus Christ required normal men to become not educated but faithful and obediant. The new Church of Jesus Christ requires no formal training in school to become a priest but instead a hunger and willingness to follow the lord. The old Church of Jesus Christ required it's members take care of one another not just go to church. The new Church of Jesus Christ requires that all members visit a selected number of members and home teach them each month. (They keep track of it on paper!)
Old Church taught our bodies are the temple of God. New Church, no tea, liquir, tobacco, illegal drugs, coffee.(called the word of wisdom)

Yes.
We have the fulness of the gospel.
It makes perfect sense there are similarities because it is truly Christ's church.
Thanks for asking.

The problem with all that is that the old church taught that there was one God, and the Mormon church teaches that there are many ... they only woship one.

Jesus made and drank wine. He taught that it isn't what goes into a body that defiles it, but what comes out. The old church had prophetesses. Jesus never taught racism, but the Mormon church taught that blacks were lower than whites, though they changed their position later. The Bible has had very few changes in text or meaning, while the specifically Mormon writings have had a number of revisions.

There are ancient manuscripts available for all of the Biblical texts, but there is no provenance for the Book of Mormon. The basic text for the LDS church is authenticated only by a subjective feeling in the readers that might be reproduced for any number of books which would move the reader.

I'm not saying that the LDS church is invalid, only that there is no objective evidence that it is any more or less valid than any other. My own religion has no ancient provenance, but I follow it because it is right for me.

You said it! "The old church". Joseph Smith started his own church so it is not the old.

I believe in the bible and the God of Abraham and his son Jesus, there is no room for Joseph smith in the bible.

Joseph Smith is a false prophet the bible talks about coming in the last days.

All I can say is beware of going beyond what is written in the Bible.

The bible ends with Jesus Coming...It never talks about Joseph Smith coming.

But it does talk about false prophets.

particular and No- he's the only real God with the daddy, who's Heavenly Father. he's no longer the "God" the daddy the Bible speaks, using fact he's the Son of God. And no they are no longer training to be Gods of planets and universes, they are residing to be as on the brink of God's teachings as obtainable so as that sometime they may well be like God's image. no longer "GODS", yet like as God become. hear to no longer people who have been excommunicated from the Church, as a lot of them are rather multiple the main deceptive and evil ones on the instant. particularly have confidence in prayer, as in case you will pray over the e book of Mormon and Bible the spirit will make certain to you interior of hours.

I have lived in Utah most of my life. All I can say is your 'question' is obviously just a statement of your beliefs which you feel compelled to attempt to influence others with. Which is what the LDS faith is all about, get more Mormons! Your church is sadly misguided. I don't even understand how you can call yourselves Christian or be allowed to by other Christian faiths. The differences of what actually makes a Christian a Christian are myriad. And more shocking than the 'evidence' you have presented.

I love Mormons. They WALK their TALK.

I do not agree with their belief system, however their Doctrines and Covenants are lovely. They live their faith and practice it to a degree rarely seen elsewhere in the christian community...other than the Amish. They care for one another and follow the commandments much more closely that other christian religions. I have alot of respect for them.

What is scary is that the Mormons like you believe that. The Old Church taught us enough. We do not need another new one.

No, they are not. Their doctrines are not Biblical
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that:
Satan and Jesus are brothers.
That you have to work your way to Heaven.
That man can see God.
That God was once a man and that we will became Gods.
That we had a pre-existence.
That there was a war in Heaven.

All religions have similarities, but does not make them the same. They are now doing DNA testing, and are actually able to tell you what country, even village, you're ancestors came from! (for alot of money)
We most likely all came from the same place, same religion, and man has twisted it to their liking.
