Mine do the same, but it is more to do with our floors than the cats I believe. If they are kittens they might still be growing into their paws and thus they would "stomp" them as they are "too big" for them right now.
Congrats on your kittens and good luck- maybe invest in ear plugs? :)

Not only does he stomp when he runs, he stomps when he walks. Not all the time, just when he's uber rambunctious, like just before he runs off to use his litter box. Reminds me of my kids when they were little, LOL! Not only does he stomp, when he's sniffing something he makes as much noise as a big dog. Whenever he finds a new smell to snuffle about, he becomes utterly engrossed, makes faces, then looks at me and gives a short meow that sounds like a question... either "Mom, what's this smell?" or "Mom, do you have to keep bringing these nasty smells home?" My fella's a year old, but spent the last third of it at the pound so missed some chances to fully be the young adolescent... he's making up for all lost time now! :)

Yeah, my cat does this, too. I don't know if she stomps on purpose, but she sounds like she weighs as much as a buffalo when she runs down the hallway. I think the cats do it just because it's fun. Your cats are still kids, and kids like to be loud and rambunctious.

YeP!!! Two or more cats zooming through the house late at night sounds like elephants stomping to the local watering hole.

LOL, the later it is, the louder he seems to stomp. My younger cat has always been very loud when running, he doesn't seem to mind. He is also an indoor cat, so see's no need for sneekiness. My old cat, who went outdoors, was a very silent cat. She stepped lightly, very delicately. The young one just mows on thru.

My cat doesn't have a graceful bone in his body. When he runs up and down the stairs, it sounds like a baby hippo running up the stairs. When he jumps down off the window ledge, you can hear it from outside. Also when he comes flying in through the cat door, I swear he is going to break the window.

My two sound like a herd of elephants when they're running around upstairs. If cats are inside and don't need to hunt, they don't know they're supposed to be stealthy.

Although my cats didn't do this
one of them hopped like a bunny
when she was a kitten
she also pushes doors open
with as much noise as possible
I don't think your cats are weird
I think they are just "growing into" their bodies
