when juicing oranges does anything else need to be added?

I HAVE JUST JUICED SOME AND THE MIXTURE HAS GONE ALL FROFFY AND TASTES YUK......

I've only gotten frothy orange juice when I've put peeled oranges into a juice extractor (The kind of juicer that can extract juices from vegetables like celery, too)

The froth you are tasting is the white membranes blended into the orange juice. This is a great nutritious benefit and actually adds a nice flavor and texture to orange juice in my opinion.

If what you want is orange water without the mebranes you have to use a reamer style juicer and don't press so hard.

The reason it takes yuck to you is because you probably used non-premium oranges or oranges that were picked to early.

Try stirring in a little simple syrup or just plain old sugar! P.S. Next time make sure you have oranges made for juicing and not eating, eating oranges aren't that great when juiced! And yes, there is a difference!

Hi there Shorty,I make fresh squeezed orange juice and it sounds to me like the oranges were too ripe.What happened to you happens when the oranges are too soft.Sometimes you can add a little sugar to it,but I find it great just as is.

Were the oranges fresh? The oranges probably
didn't taste nice to begin with..! You should use
really fresh oranges and dilute the juice with water
or another type of juice like Mango or pineapple..!

were the oranges off? if not they must not have been sweet
just add a small amount of sugar but not to much because its fattening

yes put some water with it & I always smell the oranges to make sure they are real fresh when I juice mine because sometimes they look ok .........
