I needed to convert an M3U file into and MP3 file. I opened them up in Notepad like I heard to do. What now?

I'm trying to convert M3U files into MP3 to put on my MP3 player. I saw somewhere where it said to open them up in a word text document, which I did, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Can anyone out there help me?

m3u is a playlist file, just links to the real file not a song file. you cannot convert m3u into mp3. you have to look for the link to the mp3 file in the m3u that you opened with a notepad that if it is on the internet it may look like this: http://site.com/song.mp3 . copy the link and paste them in your browser address and download them.
