Ms.Qwerty has replied that she will
call him'with' his name, whereas I had
used the word'by' his name.Is it a
structural error?if so,I stand corrected. By the way, six more posts
are with the same error. Thanks for
teaching Etiquette.

Excuse me maan, this is the age of cellular phones . Ring him on his cell and give the message. Else clap first and if it doesnt work, please yell loudly to catch his attention . Even if he doesnot listen to you atleast the other passengers will notice and call him. Right... in times of urgency, what matter more is time and not etiquette!!!!

I have a pretty good voice that projects well, so I'd just call out his name. I don't think the hand clapping thing would work. Maybe whistling.

Call by his name

Sure call out his name, and if you can whistle, like they do at the ball games, etc, that's fine.
Then use a hand gesture for waving him over, or the do the "call me" hand signal, especially if he has a cell phone.

Ofcourse I will call by his name louder. So that he can hear my voice. Call by his name is better than clapping.

I'd just board the bus and tell him the urgent message and then leave the bus.

Call him by his name, for example "Hey ****, your test came back, its herpes simplex 3!!" Yell as loud as possible so he will hear you, or someone near him will hear you and convey the message to him.
