Normally I'd have sealed it already at home and a lot of envelopes nowadays are self-sealing... but if I got one with adhesive, I'd just lick it, I really don't see the problem. You're not licking anyone else, you're only licking your own envelope. You don't have to stick your tongue out half a mile and slobber on it do get it closed!

Please take a gluestick with you whenever you go to a postoffice. Else buy a self sticking envelope and send your cover. Above all post offices of these days also keep a stick on the paste to prevent you from messing your fingers.

They normally have the little sponge pads to wet teh envelope in the post offices I go to.

Go to the window and ask for some tape or request the envelopes that are self-adhesive.

No post office will be without glue. So use that. Simple. Why to give trouble to your tongue and fingers.

as for myself, being muslim I would not tell anyone to place their tongue on the envelope, because it contains pork. now what I would do is wet a finger at a water fountain or in the restroom.
