I am a light blonde and once upon a time I thought it would be kinda cool to have black hair! Well, it looked nice w/ my green eyes, but my boyfriend said that as a blonde I lit up the room when I came in and that as a black haired girly I just was not as noticeable. To me this was fine...for a while, then it faded and my black was a dark grey! Dude, at 26 grey is not good. So...I say if you need a change get some lowlights in a light to medium brown. If you like that then you may want to gradually go darker...this will make it seem that over time your hair just grew a little darker!

There's nothing wrong with dirty blonde hair, but I understand wanting a change, and changing hair color often..lol
So..if I were you, I'd pull my hair through a cap and high-light it. Just add a higher level blonde to your already blonde hair...you won't have to worry about a growth line as badly, and to touch it up..you just do it over again in about 6 or 8 weeks, dependent on how fast your hair grows....
Something I done the other day, which I really love is I colored the hair on the back underside of my hair a dark auburn red, underneath blonde. You could pull your hair through a cap, highlight that part, then from ear to ear on the underneath side, go a darker color...its cute......done that way.

Avoid Black Dye, it will make you look really pale..
Try something subtle like an light brown with auburn highlights.. You could go into a hairdressers and ask to see their hair dye samples, put the ones you like next to your outer eye near your eyebrow, then look in the mirror and see if you like the colour.. Remember its your hair, you are the one who has to make the final decision.
Good Luck

don't dye your hair black its almost impossible to get rid of and its a pain to grow out, a medium rich chocolate brown is generally very flattering, but if you have that dark blond hair that can also go blonde it would be really fun for the summer

whatever you do don't dye it black. i can tell you from experience once you change your mind it will be almost impossible to get it out even if it's semipermanent and your hair integrity will never be the same. go to a salon or beauty school with good supervision and get some hilites. dirty blonde hair has alot of options. you don't even have to use a hair bleach if it's your first time. hilites using haircolor is beautiful.

depends on your skin color, i am assuming it is white, according to your avatar, so any color would work. what is your goal by dying your hair? is it to make a statement, or to have people take you in a different way? if you are going for a serious look, darker colors would work like brown. if you want a brighter, funner, color with more life, try colors like platinum blonde, red, and black. but remember, you should love what you were born with!
