ok, so for some reason when I try to burn a cd in windows media player it doesn't work, it starts burning for a second and then stops and I don't know why it never happened before.
I need u'r help, why this is happening??

Sounds to me like you have one or both of two problems. Either you have:
a) bad quality media in which case you are burning coasters;
OR/AND
b) a corrupted Media Player.
I would lean toward the bad media in which case you might try a different brand of CD. If this fails you might look at reinstalling WMP in case you have faulty drivers.

right click on my computer and go to hardware and see if recording is enabled on that drive. try inserting a new disc if prompted for a "format cd or enter a blank disc message" check the connectors on the rom

when did this problem start to occur, after upgrade??

I wouldn't use WMP (11) to burn a cd as it won't even sync with my PDA's SD card. There are many alternatives like Nero or freeware downloads.
