Yes they have great fits! I bought a size 20 but i am really an 18 (it is 1 size too big, only one left that i loved). I am having it taken it. It was on sale only cost something like 325.00 and it was originally over 600 dollars.
Make an appointment before you go in so you get some attention. And try on every gown in your size AND the next size up because there were very few 18s left and many 20s left. I thought i was a 20 there, that is why i was trying on 20s. And it turned out i was an 18. I never would have found the best gown if i hadnt looked at the 20s.
I have a big chest too (DD) and hips. So dont worry you will find something great. If they dont have anything that you like go back in a few weeks, they will get more in. I am sure you will find something the first visit though. I went in and it took me less than 1 hour to find my dress and buy it. And i took it home that night! You can buy right off the rack and dont have to wait 6 months to order a dress to come in, like other bridal shops!
If you are a big woman that is the best place to find a reasonably priced gown that will look good on you.
I bought mine last Nov and i think it was a left over from the 2005 season (cause i looked for a pic online and someone was selling one from 2005, so it must be a few seasons ago). But i dont care cause now no one else will be wearing it in my state, at least in my size cause it was the last left in all the DB's in my area.
visit the website to look at the new gowns they have
www.davidsbridal.com
But they have dresses on sale in the store too that are from last season, etc.
Good luck and happy shopping!

I'm about a size 18 and I was also worried about finding a wedding dress that would not only fit but also look good on me. David's bridal has hundreds of dresses with a few sizes in every style so you may try on one that is alittle big or small but you will get an idea. You will know the dress when you try it on that you want. My maid of honor picked out a dress that I really didn't like but I tried it on anyways and it ended up looking great on my (even if it was too big). They will take your measurements and then use a chart to get the right size dress for you. They will also do alterations to the dress to make it an exact fit for you. Take your mom or your fiance's mom and your maid of honor and maybe a bridesmaid or two with you. they will let you know when you look great in a dress.
p.s. don't get upset if they recomend you get a dress that you think will be huge on you. the dresses seem to runa little small. I usually wear a 14 and my dress is an 18.
Good Luck and happy hunting.

Try to get the best fit possible and then have it altered for an even better fit. Alterations can add up so make sure that you have the closest possible fit BEFORE you alter anything and you dont want to alter it so much that you lose the design of the dress. Good Luck!
P.S. Almost everyone, including the skinniest people, have to get a wedding dress altered.

Try on different styles - they are very good at suggesting the best styles for your body. Try on dress & make sure it is not to snug on one area. You can always have it altered to fit the
too big fit area. My daughter's dress was cut down from a size 14 to a size 8. It was the only size they had. Good luck!

They will get you the dress that fits best and have an on-site seamstress that will be able to take in or let out any area that will make the dress a perfect fit!
Don't worry it'll be great- don't expect it to fit exactly right away - most won't they may have to use clips for parts of the dress to show you what will be done to make it fit your body like a glove :)
God Bless

David's Bridal has a good selection of dresses only thing I did not like about them was there return/exchange policy. There stores majority of the time are filthy. But there prices and selections are decent. Just a quick piece of advice if I may where ever you go for your dress make sure you take a pair of shoes with you (preferable the height of the heel you plan to wear). Makes trying on dresses a little easier. Good luck and congrat's.

Make sure it's not too tight in your hips or bust. If it fits nicely over your hips, you can always have it taken in. Plan on having it altered no matter what. A good tailor can make the bust fit perfectly, and I think taking in the bust is easier than trying to let out the torso area.
Good luck!

Any Dress you buy is going to need alterations.I had mine made for me and it still needed simple alterations. Don't worry if you can't find anything email me I'll send you pics of my dress and the maker they are in Hong Kong(I'm in Canada and have never set foot in their factory) but they do a great job and are very cheap!!
