guys, if you talked to a girl online for like around 5 months and you guys would say a casual "hi" in the halls but thats it... and then one day online she asks you for help with something that requires you guys to hang out together. would you think she was weird? what would your reaction be?

can you get loving emotion from this chick? if you can, forget all of your other worries. she has chatted with you because she likes you. you know each other in real life, so whatever the issue is that is shaming you in acknowledging your presence in you guys' real life, let it go. the girl is probably reaching out to you for something. if you're a good guy, at least listen to her and give her a chance to tell you what's on her mind.
