i used both and i found that proactive worked a little better. if you only have a few pimples then go with acne free because its cheaper and pretty much the same thing. i also noticed that proactive dried my face out more then acnefree.

both have ingredients that help in fighting acne.
But if i may suggest, you might want to go natural first. How?By having a good skin regimen, appropriate lifestyle & eating healthy.
Knowing healthy foods & eating them is highly beneficial. You can't go wrong with herbs, fruits & vegetables. They fight toxins in the body, improve blood circulation(in this case, the face included) & has biochemicals & nutrients that can fight bacteria( bacteria feed on oil-rich sebum in the skin which then cause pimples). They are not only good for your body, you can also use some of them & apply directly to your face-- like cucumber, tomato, apple, papaya, etc.
A simple skin regimen could include washing your face regularly (or when you wake up & before you go to bed), avoiding smoking, drinking alcohol, avoiding too much sun exposure, AVOIDING pricking, avoiding flipping from 1 skin product to the other, etc..
Also, exercise & adequate sleep helps.
If you still insist on trying any of the two, i suggest proactive for its proven ingredients.
Combining those mentioned above &(not just relying completely on) proactive would be the best way to go.
Good luck!

Everyone is different. Start with the chepest one. if it works well, stay with it. If not, then try proactive. Use each one for at least 8 weeks.

i use proactiv & it really works. be careful though because it really dries out your skin ; i only use it once a day & it keeps my skin clear. plus with proactiv if it doesnt work for you, you can return it easily. =] good luck.
