I would use at least 1 cup. but i love strong coffee

The so called 12cup coffee makers seem to be using the itty-bitty European cups for measurements, I believe...depending on what kind of cup you use and how strong you like your coffee...the best way to figure it out is to use a smaller amount, let's say, use the 3 cup line of water, use 3 tablespoons of ground coffee and see if you like it! Adjust your water and coffee levels from that!
