i need to write an essay for a freshman honors english class the prompt is... "write a tale of heroic adventure set in today's world or the future" ... ideas?

an average joe does something out of his daily routine, different than what anyone would ever expect of him
(its hard to come up with a whole essay off the top of my head)
dont make it be someone you would expect or a superhero.. too artificial.
try to think of something out of the ordinary... this way it will be a surprise as to how the person was about to die

give it a twist. describe and epic medieval battle, but substitute modern elements that seem out of place, make the reader question what is odd about this story. In the end throw in a twist, the whole story was just a computer game. This gives a perspective of what the current generations view as epic. It also makes a commentary on the preoccupations of the current generations and there tendency to avoid reality and submerse themselves in a fantasy video game world.

hmmm. i just did an assignment exactly like this in an honors freshman english class. since ur a girl u proboly wouldn't want to write urs about LA. gangs. Even tho i got an 89 on it and ur teacher is proboly an easier grader. IDK if u have to follow a hero's journey fromat but it would really help u out. just have a coulple of obsticles, a supernatural aid, a bad guy, mabee some verbal formulaic events, and just make ur plot really simple. no one said it had to be complex, just make an adventure about getting from the couch to the shower or something haha IDK. u could mabee base it off of ur favorite movie?

watch futuramia 30 times and youll get an idea. Try space pirate tale or something Cr@ppy like that.
