I'll tell you what my bible happens to say about that first verse - Romans 8:30 *
"Predestined means two things, both intensely practical. (1) It means God is going to fulfill his purpose. Although God allows human beings to make choices, he will bring all humanity and creation to the end he desires. (2) It means that we now know our destiny, it has been preset. God's plan for us is that we should become like Jesus."
Does this mean that you can't lose salvation? No. Only that God had a plan, and desires all of us to be like Jesus. Most argue that this verse means that God already knows our choices before hand. So we are not predestined by God, but by our own folly.

Look, this is so easy, even a caveman can do it. There's no need to try and justify this. One can be saved and later leave Christ/the Church. If he chooses to live of the world then he's headed for trouble. That's it.

this is talking about God sending his son Jesus. How that he loved us so much that he sent his son to die for you and I. Jesus died so that you and I could have a relationship with God. He makes intercession for us. We go to God through Jesus. That is the whole point of why he died for us. Those scriptures don't mean anything about loosing salvation.

God never takes His promise of salvation away, but a believer can walk away from his salvation by returning to a life of sin and not seeking forgiveness and repenting, by rejecting God.

No, because if we gain salvation. We can't lose it or be unsaved and if we gain salvation, we were predestined to be saved.
Edit: You are abosolutely right. You hit the spot of the bible where it talks about predestination. Those who are christian, but then loose their faith. They weren't christian to begin with.
Alot of people have little understanding of predestination (including christians). But nevertheless, predestination is true and is in the bible.

I think you already know the answer to this question, and your knowledge does not come from any book. We will drag you into heaven by your hair, if we must.

A few scriptures for you:
John 6:47
I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. (has is present tense, you cannot lose something that is present tense everlasting)
John 10:27-30
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.
(When God says no one here, He means no one, including yourself, if You have truly come into a relationship with Him, the Greek word that is used here for no one or no man is ouden, which means not even one, none, nobody, nothing, never)
John 11:25-26
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
Romans 8:38-39
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nothing can separate a child of God from their Father.
(Nothing would include us as we are created matter)
1 Corinthians 3:15-17
If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
(God gave us His Holy Spirit as a seal when we came to know Him, as a deposit guaranteeing our salvation, He can't send Himself to Hell)
2 Corinthians 5:5
Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Ephesians 1:13-14(same thing basically)
Read Ephesians 2:4-10, basically says that when God died on the cross, He saved us, raised us up, and seated us in the heavenly realms (all past tense), it's already been done when you come to know Him
Philippians 1:6
…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:12
…is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
Hebrews 7:25
He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 10:14
…because by one sacrifice he has made perfect FOREVER those who are being made holy.
1 Peter 1:3-5-inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade
1 Peter 1:23-now born of IMPERISHABLE seed
Jude 1:24
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—
(God is more than able to keep you from falling)
I don't know if you know Christ, I struggled growing up with doubting whether I was, and that's because I didn't know how to have a relationship with God. I thought it was all about escaping hell. Turns out, the main point of it is to know God as if He's here, totally having a conversation with you, encouraging you. What boggles my mind is that I can know personally the God of the universe, not in a mystic sense, but in a very real way, I know His character and His promises. If you know Christ, really know Him, it is for good. He can't screw up in keeping you. Of course we'll make mistakes, but every time, He draws us back.
As for the Romans 8:30 predestined question, I'm all for going back to the original greek definition of the word used specifically in this verse. Without all the symbols, it is proorizo which means to determine before or to ordain. Ordained means to order or decree something officially. I think if the God of the universe is decreeing officially that you would know Him, chances are, you cannot screw that up.
