The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints beleives the Bible to be the word of God. It adheres to the King James version of the Bible. As you noted, there are many "versions" and translations of the Bible. In all of the versions, there are slight discrpancies and alterations. Joesph Smith declared that he was able to correct some slight errors in the King James version. The LDS church follwos the King James version, but also opens the Joseph Smith translation from time to time as interest dictates.

The King James bible is an edited version of what it was translated from. King James felt that the more accurate version gave women to much power so he had it altered to diminish their stature in the bible.

Smith tried to establish systemic sexism and racism even more deeply than it already was, and he aimed it at North America. First Nations peoples have their own origins stories and only arrogant self interested people try to tell them where they came from and who they are.

Turn back to early texts if you want anything remotely close to the truth. Scribes, rewritings....you have to work for it!

Peace!

Well people sure can be easily manipulated. When someone really needs to believe in something and that thing gives them an out so to speak, they will 'wave' aside reality and go for it hook line and sinker! Smith was a manipulator and as has been noted here already, other things that place him more accuratly are 'waved' aside for the big promise!

Read The Third Wave and read Turning Evil for a start.

One of the things that make these guys so hard to fight is the mixing of truths with lies. I have to give them credit they sure know how to pick the right ones to appeal to particular demographics. It is really interesting that right know the Mormans are pushing overseas conversions playing on the ignorance of overseas people in regards to First Nations peoples here and their real histories.

I know there are some Native North American people traveling to Europe and all over the world teaching people about who First Nations people really are. They really have no idea over there. That knowledge base is growing and I hope it puts a snag in the Mormans plans.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I feel I have to say this...it is heartbreaking and just ugly to know that there are a small minority of First Nations people that have actually joined with that obsenity, Consider the possibility that you are being used, please. Used yet again! You are just another means of justification and advertizing to them.

A friend of mine's son was sent to a Mormon missionary prep camp this year. There were 6,000 young people there each has to learn another language. After hearing that, any doubt I have ever have about this organization being a global threat is gone.

The only way people like this can get away with it is if we sit back and brush them off as just another agrivation. Or we may just say to each other "there can't ever really be enough people that would fall for that nonsense could there"

Faschism in Germany was a Christian based movement.

P.S. Those edits in the translation were not minor to me! Nor is the sentiment that spurred them a delight to mine eyes! The statement below betrays its owners biase. As a woman I garentee you I find no improvements in Smiths version. Nor do I in anyway believe they were devinely inspired.

If there were any spirits involved they were evil ones.

The LDS do use the King James Version, that's true. What always bugged me was that they said that they believe in the Bible, and in the same sentence said as far as it's translated correctly. It always made me feel like I couldn't trust the Bible, and that I could trust the Book of Mormon more.

I'm not sure what the JC means? The Church of Jesus Christ? of Latter-day Saints. We carry the King James Version. Mostly only those who collect books have a copy of the Joseph Smith Translation. Why are you asking?

Mormons are the most brainwashed people i have ever talked to. They actually believe in the Book of Mormon, even when its been proven (in more ways then one) to be completely and underly based on fiction. I mean at least every other religion is based around real events, nope not Mormonism they completely made everything up (like Scientology).
