Sune is correct, if you think God isn't against homosexuality then you don't know God. Someone said Jesus didn't bring it up, but what about Paul? Paul discussed it numerous times in the new testament. What are you "free to be gay" people basing your facts on, it sure not the Bible! The act of homosexuality is an abomination. I didn't make this up, God did, if you don't like the rules take it up with him.

No, some Biblical writers believed God views homosexuality as an abomination, because the culture viewed it as such. Some Christians actually believe that the heart of the Gospel is love God and love your neighbory as yourself. The first Christians were Jews and had to set aside some long standing beliefs about clean and unclean foods and circumcision, in order to accept the Gentiles.

Honestly? Because Jesus says, "He who has not sinned..." Of course he also says sin no more. Ironically, you can murder, rape and commit so many other abominations and be received by the church easier than a homosexual is. Does that make sense? If homosexuality is a spiritual deficiency as some claim, then how is closing them off from the source of God excusable? No man should stand in the way of another's salvation. I'd like to see that in the Bible.

The Churches job isn't to judge, but nonetheless the bible clearly says that "men who lie with men" (applies also to women) would not inherit the kingdom of God (jehovah-father of Jesus). So simply put religions are on a downfall morally. if you want an example of a religion that is doing its job look at Jehovahs witnesses. ask me some more religious question if you feel the need. i promise to give you an answer and if i don't have one i will find one and tell you why its right.

i think the state ought to continuously be conscious the legislations that way, yet to my expertise, no u . s . a . that has legalized gay marriage has compelled any church to rejoice those ceremonies. right here in Canada, the place gay marriage has been criminal for extra effective than a decade, the Catholic Church nonetheless won't rejoice those marriages. however the state will know them. If it comes right down to a gay couple looking no church which will rejoice their marriage, they are able to continuously go right down to city hall and have a civil union.

They misunderstand scripture or think it is unimportant...
1Corinthians 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 SOME OF YOU USED TO DO THOSE THINGS. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
SOME OF YOU USED TO DO THOSE THINGS…
tdrew: You REALLY MISUNDERSTAND. Paul makes it PERFECTLY CLEAR that the church is CHARGED with judging its own members.
1Corinthians 5:12 Is it my business to judge those outside the church? Aren’t you supposed to judge those inside the church? 13 God will judge those outside. Scripture says, “Get rid of that evil person!”

How do you know God views gay people like that? God loves all his children, whether or not you agree about gay marriage doesn't give you the right to say who God loves and who God hates. You are not God so don't go around preaching like you know him & what he really thinks.

Actually hon, some churches do acknowledge gay marriage. The reform Jewish church, for instance. Do try to step outside your own little world once and awhile, if only to acknowledge that there IS other life outside of it.
Second of all, I think most gays who are asking for the right to marry are asking for it to be LEGALLY recognized, not recognized by every church.

I would say it started out as something like "the Bible isn't literally true, a lot of it is outdated information". Then, someone who sinned and wants to continue sinning comes in and they agree to accept him "he's got a good heart and he can't help it that he's gay". Then, they find out he wants to be married in their church. How can they say no?
