IMLDS2.

You may get a few not-so-happy responses to this but hopefully we can all treat each other with love and respect.

A "Mormon" is someone who believes in the Restoration movement that was founded by Joseph Smith Jr. in the 19th century.

A "Mormon" thus is someone who believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ, the prophetic nature of Joseph Smith Jr., and in the divinely inspired nature of the Book of Mormon.

As we can see, "Mormon" is as vague as "Christian".

A Mormon can be a member of the LDS church (which typically, but incorrectly, becomes synonomous with eachother).

A Mormon can also be a member of the former RLDS (currently Community of Christ) church.

A Mormon can also be independent believing that there exists to viable church on the earth, that a second apostacy has occured.

A Mormon can also be a member of the controversial FLDS (Fundamentalist) who to date practice cereal polygamy.

I just found out that there is actually a "Homosexual Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"

The "Mormon" movement is spreading, breaking up, and diversifying far greater than many other religious paths.

LDS is short for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, and are more commonly known as Mormons. This religon was restored to the earth by the prophet, seer, and revelator Joseph Smith after he was God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He also translated the Book of Mormon, which is another testemant of Jesus Christ. The LDS read the King James Verson of the Bible, as long as it is translated correctly. LDS Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do. They are followers of the false prophet Joseph Smith and his successors. They use the book of Mormon and contend that it is the most correct book on the face of the earth. That is despite the fact that it does not support the majority of cardinal doctrines in the church!
