I can't seem to find a nice boyfriend. Most of the guys I meet are self-centered, not very affectionate or compassionate. It's all about sex - even when it's not about that, they take me for granted. I will say that I am too kind - some take that as a weakness, and often I like to be alone, unfortunately that sometimes is lonely. I would like to have someone close enough that they would want to hang out once in a while, go to a movie, to dinner, come over and watch a DVD and order in pizza, spend the night, go camping, go to a flea market. Aren't there guys out there like that anymore?

Yes, I believe that there are guys out there like that...
The problem comes in when relationships are being developed...
I have seen a lot of people that look for those things, but the premises to the relationship isn't defined well in the beginning...
I think that it would work well if you were to put that out there in the beginning....
What you are looking for is someone to take it slow with....and that would have to be someone that you would consider to be a friend....
Not that you know right now...but even any guy that you meet...let him know that you are looking for a friendship first off....
That way, there is no confusion or overwhelming expectations in the relationship...
I think that what you are looking for is beautiful....and there are gentlemen out there that will respect how you feel...and would be honored to have someone that they can enjoy in a relationship without so many strings attached...
So, they are out there...they just need to know that those are your standards....
And trust me, they will be happy to live up to them....
It keeps order in the relationship as well....That way, they know that your body doesn't come before your relationship...They can respect you as a person first and will not abuse the fact that you are kind...

I sound just like you. Don't give up, I found a guy exactly like what you described in a random Yahoo chatroom and we've lived together for 2 years now. Never give up on hope, love finds you when you're least expecting it.
