That your soul is the part of you that will live on forever after your body has decayed and your soul is the part of you that will face God someday even though scientifically, it can't be proven?

There is more than just consciousness. You have the ability to reason, to think, to calculate, have knowledge and wisdom. This has to be more than just neurons firing in your brain.

You can not scientifically prove that God exists but, you can't prove that He does not exist either.

it's existence is debatable. why should i believe there is a soul? is there any reason at all? because a book written by people 2 thousand ago says so? because ancient people were desperate to believe that their deeds would be rewarded after their lives when it was so clear they would get nothing in life?
i can see why the concept of a soul came up, but i see no reason to believe it. what makes you so certain it's there.

I don't think so. I think consciousness is purely within the nervous system, and life ends at death.

Consciousness is awareness, the sensation of being alive. All thoughts are connected to this, and all are neurological.

It's not our job to prove that God doesn't exist. You're the ones saying God does exist. Why don't you prove to me that there's no miniature elaphant living inside of my television?

It's true that you can't prove the existence of an afterlife, but you also can't prove that there isn't one. It's a super-natural aspect of religion that takes faith, because it can't be knowledge. Personally, I don't believe what anybody tells me about such things, but I'm very interested to find out eventually.

The soul is the sum total of the electro-chemical activity of the brain. When the activity ceases, the soul ceases to be. I know it would be wonderful to think that we are special somehow, and not just primates who got lucky, but that's what we are.

So what evidence do you have to support the existence of a soul, let alone my soul? What makes you believe that you or I have a soul? What is the basis for your assertions? If you have no basis, why do you expect me to believe you?

You are correct that there is more to a person than their physical body. There are processes (respiration, digestion, thinking, etc.) but all those processes are dependent upon the physical body.

If you think otherwise, you are suffering from delusions.

God is fictitious (i.e a lie)
The soul is fictitious, another lie.
How come you are so gullible?

Advice: Don't believe everything that you are told or everything that you read.

There are two kinds of people to answer this...

Those that believe in it..so it's pointless to tell them what they already think.

And those that don't believe in it..so it's pointless to tell them silly stuff they don't believe.

So trying to inform people of something you yourself can never be certain of is pointless, so stop preaching.
