I think it'd look better (more balanced and symettrical) on the upper back.

a tattoo with so many straight lines would be incredibly difficult to do and would take an extremely talented tattoo artist to pull off. the best thing you can do is find custom tattoo artists in the area. check out their portfolios and see how you feel about their ability. that is always the best way to judge talent, looking at previous work. good luck!

It is very posible I don't know of one in SoCal but there is one in Tucson AZ her name is Kiely and she owns the Enchanted Dragon I have seen her free hand photos and be exact in her work. The other one would be "The Scary Guy" but I believe he is into world acceptance and doesn't do tats any more Craiger at the Koffman fine arts and designs would be able to help you out too if you feel like going to AZ.

It can definately be done, it's the location that makes it iffy... I would choose a flatter surface on the body to make sure it appears correctly...
Also, be picky anout your tattoist, look through their portfolio (expect a portfolio) and look for similar tattoos. Some tattooist are only good at one or two types of tattoos, don't just pay anyone...
Good luck!

Cool design! I agree with the guy who said it'd be more appropriate on the back, but it's totally up to you. lol.
My tat artist says that it's the hardest to tattoo a circle, but if the artist you choose is honest with you, they'll tell you straight up if they can do it or not. My boyfriend just got the BMW logo on his shoulder blade, and it came out fine. So I've seen it done! lol.
Good luck though. :)

You may need to do it larger than 4in to keep the detail (but I'm a piercer, not a tattoo artist, so I'm not positive on that one) Just find yourself a good artist (Don't know anyone in your location - I'm from Canada) make sure to look at their portfolio.

Of course you can get this tattoo done. An artist will tell you right away if he or she can do it, and if not then you find someone else. Ive seen much more intricate work, so yes it can be done. Cool Design!

I agree with Mikke, it will look better on the back, or at least an area where the skin will be constantly "streched." The straight lines of the piece will look better.
It is a beautiful piece. Totally cool idea.

you would need to get that really big if you wanted all that detail.possibly that wouldnt even work.when the lines are real close together like that they have a chance of smearing together.i would either have an artist draw it differently to be able to tat it or find another design

i think its possible you take the tat to ure local tat artist or the best on in the area, he traces it then like transfers it to your arm and follows the lines made by the tracing to make the tattoo, you gotta forgive the tiny probability of human error, but i expect to the naked eye it will be perfect.
