assuming you're trying to record a VHS tape from a DVD-source which is the only reason I can think of for trying to connect these two...

on the dvd player, yellow is video out, red is right channel audio out and white is left channel audio out...

on the vcr, the two yellow inputs and the two white inputs are kinda confusing to me, it would help if you told us how those inputs are labeled as I'm not positive they are inputs...

are the inputs on the vcr physically the same type as the outputs on the DVD, regardless of the colors, or are they another kind of plug?

There's no way you can run a DVD signal through a VCR to your TV and get a decent picture due to Macrovision encoding on the DVD. All you'll get are scrolling dark bands.

You need to purchase an RF converter that takes the red/white/yellow from your DVD player and turns it into RF signalling via coax to run to your TV directly.

Are you making particular that you a million) have the television on the most superb channel to play DVDs or 2) that you're figuring out on the right enter? My television has diverse options for enter on the enter menu from the distant; i.e. Video a million, Video 2, Comp a million, Comp 2, and so on.
