I know this is intended to be a daft question but I will answer it as it has some things I can share.
There would be no basis on why God would ask you to kill a child. Abraham was asked to but there was a principle involved that has taught millions thoughout the centuries.
WIth Abraham when he was told to sacrifice his son Issac this was a foreshadow example of Jesus the Son of God being sacrificed and showed the pain Abraham experienced having to sacrifice his son to how God must be feeling allowing his Son to be sacrificed for our sins. An angel stopped Abraham from slaying his son as Abraham had proved his loyalty and Abraham knew that God could resurrect his son and it taught us an appreciation lesson in what God had to go through.
There today would be no basis in God asking anyone to kill a child. God has had recorded by the apostle John what he intends to do with mankind in these last days. There is no asking for anyone to kill a child. What was written will happen and exactly as it was written in the Bible.

In the Bible God asked Abraham to kill his own son. Abraham was totally prepared to do it. God then goes..'sucked in...you don't have to kill him after all'.
Who is more freaky someone who would kill on the advice of an unseen voice, or the God who would play a nasty little loyalty test like this?

Why would god ask me to kill my child? I'm not big on spirituality but am trying to learn, isn't murder against the commandments or something? i don;t think he would ever ask this of anyone and if by some chance, maybe it were to be a test and you were to refuse to do so.

Of course not! And God would never ask that. (And don't bring up Abraham and Isaac--God never intended for Abraham to kill Isaac.)

Never. I would never even consider it.
So why would god ask that of Abraham? And why would Abraham be willing to do it? How inhumane of his god to ask that.

Didn't he try that once with Abraham and Issac? I would ask for a second opinion, fortunately my Goddess asks for no sacrifice, all things living are hers already.

Naw, coz I know God would never ask me to do that, so I'd know it wasn't God. See, I'm not Abraham, I'm not that good ... and God says He'll never give us more than we can handle. I couldn't handle that so .... it wouldn't be God telling me that.

na, I doubt that he would ask me anyway since he could just cause a flood and take him away from me.
I wonder if the "GOD told me to do it" would be a good defense in court if I were to 'off' my stepdaughter?
