Start meditating daily and go into the meditation with this question. In time, you may get some revelations that surprise you. On the other hand, you could go to a psychic and ask her/him this question. I prefer the first process.

There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

There are specialists that can take you through a past life regression. You also may want to check out your local bookstore, usually located in the New Age section. They have tons of books on past lives & some on self regression.

You can't. Anyway, what are you going to do with that knowledge, even assuming that there are past lives? If you really believe in that, your present life even otherwise will be conditioned by your past actions (karma). Ignorance is bliss in this case.

For me, working on lucid dreaming was what worked best. Once you're able to become "aware" that you're dreaming, just make the decision to view a past life. You can even say "out loud" (in your dream) "I want to visit my past life." There are books out there on lucid dreaming. Going to a hypnotherapist has also been known to work very well.

I don't know about that... but my when my son was 3 he came up to me and said .... " Momma remember when I was your dad but I died and now I am back now" My father died when I was 7.... Of course I was shocked but tried not to let him know that. I said to him ... " Well you are! What did you look like when you were my dad?" and he said "I had black hair and glasses" this was what my father looked like but my son would have never known that since I lost every photo of my father when I was 15 in a house fire. Just thought I would put my 2 cents in about past lives....

Pay attention to your likes and dislikes. What past cultures and history are you most in tune with? Pay attention to your dreams. Really there is not past or future, there is only the present moment.
