Get the DVD of the Penn and Teller Show "Bull****!" - they did an expose on recycling that was just incredible. While both Penn and Teller tend to be liberal on most issues - they ripped apart the ideas of recycling as good.
Basically, they show that there was never a landfill crisis, recycling doesn't save trees and all it really does is cost us money.
And they are avowed atheists, too!

I will give you some Reality Views on Recycling that GOD uses Religiously.
1. Leaves fall off of the Trees and go Back into the Ground giving Stuff back to the Tree and the Living Things under it.
2. SunLight has Short-Wave Radiation (Ultra-Violet) that Decomposes Stuff at the Molecular Level.
3. The Rain Falls in the Mountains and goes out to the Sea, is picked up by the Clouds (hehehe) and goes back up to the Mountains and Falls again.
4.Fish have babies in the Streams then go out to the Sea to Rest then comes back upstream and has more babies.
GOD Recycles. Hope this Helps...No.4 might be "just a little bit-off".
I tried.
Ditto...................

While religion/The Bible covers almost every subject to some extent, there are some things one really doesn't have to try to find there. I think recycling is a good thing, but I wouldn't think God wants me to pray about it. It's more of a personal choice. And it certainly will not affect the outcome of your relationship to your God.

I think recycling is being a good steward over this earth that God has given us dominion over. If someone gave you Scriptures to say that recycling is not a good thing, then I'd say they're misinterpreting Scripture.

Sorry but when I think of recycling I think of the job that God gave to Adam.
Genesis 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.
God made mankind stewards of the earth that He provided for us and recycling is one way we can reduce garbage and pollution.

Revelation 11:18 - "he will.... bring to ruin those ruining the earth." Now of course that doesn't mean he's going to smite every single person who doesn't use the lovely recycling bin but it does show how important his early creation is to him and how we wants it treated.
