How to become a cop, and then later a state cop...?

I am currently 16 years old and a junior in highschool (I turn 17 this summer), After highschool I am joining the Army Active Duty (Artillery related MOS if ur wandering)... after the Army (4-6 years..) what will i have to do to become a normal local "cop" and then how long will it take me to qualify for state police academy (PA) and become a state trooper

not sure but i think you could do state trooper after your out of the army, I think to become a trooper you need either college credits or 2 years (active)minimum in the military. Not a 100% though

well first, stop calling them cops, they really don't like that.

actually you can qualify for a state trooper right out of the military, It will help if you get at least 2 years of college while in military. It works even better with a 4 year degree.

while in the Army, take college courses and then when you're done in AD Army, go straight to State Police Academy.

YOU CAN BE ACCEPTED STRAIGHT INTO THE STATE HIGHWAY PATROL ACADEMY OUT OF THE ARMY..

YOU CAN ALSO COMPLETE BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING (BLET) WHILE ON ACTIVE DUTY AND WORK FOR (AUX) CIVILIAN LAW CITY/COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENTS GETTING YOUR CIVILIAN POLICE CERTIFICATION....

There is no requirement to be military first. It does help much like having college, although a lot of departments require having a degree.
