I'm not a police officer, but I believe for any career that you have you must really love what you do. You have to put your heart and soul into it to get the best results.
My personal experience:
I've switched careers maybe four times and I never really liked other people children but my own child, but when I became a nurse my first interview, offer was for a pediatrician. Everything else was great part time flexible schedule, great pay, small intimate office so I took it. Most of the parents rave about me and find out my hours so they can make sure they show up when I'm there, because I love what I do and it shows I'm still there and wouldn't change it for the world.
If you ever heard the phrase "Life is what you make it" it pretty much goes double for your career.
Anybody who wakes up everyday to go to work and loves what they do will tell you the same thing.

It is very nice of you to have asked this question regarding being an great police officer.
He should have the following qualities .
1. Good Physique 2 Honest 3. Morally strong in character
3 well dressed and behaved in public. 4 educated enough to know the good from the bad and Speak Politely to one and all citizens. This should cover all the good qualities of an great police officer.

I know from expeirience ( 2 parents 3 aunts and 2 big brothers) that a key aspect of police work is A. Thinking ahead of a criminal and B. Being able to get them to confess
i.e.
" Hey man you've been running fro a while dude.... You want a coke? Yah man, hey why you running man? whats up?" '
do it right and you'll crack em like a nutcracker on christmas day :) smooth talking.....it is truley a talent... not a learned ablility...

Honesty, compassion, good job eathics, and being a fair person. It doesn't hurt to be hard working and be healthy.
