Girl, just be honest with him. "Honesty is always the best policy"....if he really cares about you in the long run he'll appreciate the fact that you didn't keep him lingering. If you decide to wait it out your only going to make it harder for him and his heart. Be the better person. Good luck!

I've been in this situation. Look, all you can do is be honest with him. It's much better to be honest RIGHT NOW than to lead him on any longer. True, you may have flirted with this guy, and now you may not have any interest in him anymore, for various reasons. Just talk to him. Tell him that you're truly sorry, but you have no intentions of dating him. If he acts psycho, clingy, or overly emotional at this point, question him as to why he has so many strong feelings so soon, because it's a little creepy! Do your best to be sensitive, unless he becomes too controlling and makes threats, suicidal comments, etc., (it's happened... yeah...) and then you will be forced to lay down the law. Good luck!

there is no good way and it depends a lot on the guy also i
went out for dinner with one of my friends who's wife had just died (i knew him for like 3 years before that from work and knew he liked me) he had said he was lonely and wanted some company well after and expensive dinner(he was expensive not me) he tried to kiss me i told him it didn't feel right and i wanted to be friends and the next day at work he wouldn't even talk to me and told every one how much he had paid for dinner and everything but at least i didn't lead him on so tell your person now that way even if there mad at you it won't be your fault

well if its cause your truly not interested and want to be single etc do it, dont tell him your going with someone else, cause ease his pain the best way, i know my bf left me for another woman and he bought the ***** over as he was doing it, like how cold can a person be. do it the easiest way so he can move on a lot easier and less heart broken.

You are doing this guy more of a disservice by giving him false hope. It is going to be painful, but it is necessary if he is going to move on from his feelings for you. You care about this persons feelings, and so you just need to get them alone and express how you really feel. Express that you care about them, but you do not care about them in the way they deserve. Be kind but be firm. Trust me, it will hurt more if they keep on with this when you are not going to ever share their feelings.

say you want to take a step back that your moving to quickly and your not ready for whats going on. Then maybe later do that again or tell the person you just want to be friends. If you didn't already tell the person later you just want to be friends.

dam hurting his hurt when you don't want to be with him you don't want to be with him. tell him the truth about how you feel (do it one-on-one in public he may be crazy) and say it'll never work...that you found you are interested in someone else.

--Or just stop keeping in contact he'll get the picture.

--Or if you want to remain friends after the fact tell him.

Sit him down and tell him you don't feel the same way about him as he does about you...and apologize if you felt you led him on.

Tell them you are a homosexual, or into some sicko sex pervert stuff (like bestiality). Then they won't feel bad AT ALL for getting dumped. Sure, it may tarnish your reputation, but you won't hurt his feelings.
