Depends on the sort of bleach you are using, (don-not use household bleach), bleaching your hair if done with the right product should not effect your hair, but do not do it too often, your hair can become dry, break easily and in extreme cases cause hair-loss.. Go and talk to a product supplier, or a hairdresser, they will point you in the right direction for the right product..
If you do decide to bleach your hair, I would recommend getting it done at a hairdressers, just to be on the safe side..
Good Luck:)

I have had my hair bleached for the past 22 yrs. It depends on if you have it professionally done or do it yourself. NOT good to do it yourself. I've had to cut my hair off by trying to be cheap. Now I found a cosmotology school that does it for $32! I get high lights/low lights! My hair is long. I would go with the high lights before the all over bleaching experience. Much worse on your hair to do an all over bleach. I heard from my friend who is a licensed beautician in another state that they've just come out with a non bleach product to turn the darkest of hair blonde. I've not tried it nor asked my own hair school that I go to for my hair needs if they've heard it yet. I am interested in knowing more!

Yes, it does. Have it done by a professional so they can be sure to use a product that won't destroy the hair completely.
5 years ago I bleached by own hair and fried it - nothing but a head of pale yellow straw.
Now, my hairdresser does my roots each month, and my hair is long, thick, shiny, and luscious. Because she knows what she's doing and does it right.

bleaching your hair dries it out and makes it very brittle so ends break easily
