He may have 'Seasonal Affective Disorder'. Check the link below. I don't believe his mood swing in winter, is because he's been dumped during that season...but more likely, his mood in winter has caused people to move away from him.

It is not weird.I have a couple friends like this. In their case it is due to seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Between 6 to 8 percentage of Americans suffer from it. Some people sit daily for 30 in front of a10,000 lux lamp. This is equivalent to a bright sunny day in the summer. I have even hears of people increasing their vitamin D intake, but light therapy is highly recommended. Give it some thought, while the other reasons make sense, but this is in the past and unless there is a millstone that he can't get past, I would bet he may suffer from SAD

It's called SAD= Seasonal Affective Disorder. Being in the sunshine is good for people and when the weather gets bad your body really feels it. If you plan to stay with this man (and even if you don't) suggest that he take vacations to sunny places during the dreary months to get some needed sunrays. Or possibly consider relocating to a less gloomier environment. Good luck.

I am not a Psychologist so I won't attempt to psychoanalyze him. However, he appears to have some emotional baggage. If you like the guy, go another year and see if it was just a fluke.
All of us to some extent are affected by dreary weather. I myself could sleep for HOURS on a rainy day. Where if it was really sunny, I would have to get up.
Maybe your boyfriend's body clock is messed up. It would take several tests to find out.
Hope this helps.

It does seem a little weird, are you sure its the weather? But hey, enjoy the complements and stuff. If you stuck with him through his rough patch, you sound like your going to be fine, but if you feel uncomfortable, talk to him about it, especially now that he is in his good mood.

There are loads of people like your BF.
It's called Seasonal Depressive Disorder, and there is a cure.
You buy or rent what amounts to a sun lamp, without the burn factor. Ask him to check it out with his doctor and the doc will provide him with the correct name of the lamp and probably a prescription for one, he can later claim on his medical.
Enjoy the spring :D

Sounds like your boyfriend has a Seasonal personality, one of many bipolar disorders. Sad to say, it really can be quite serious, and may even need Psychiatic evaluation. I am not trying to jump to the worst-case scenario, but this may be quite a serious situation. Anyhow, confront him with it, and tell him it is troublesome, and it may interfer very much when it comes to your relationship. If worst comes to worst, tell him to seek help, I mean if you like him enough, yuo'd want him to get over this situation.

He has seasonal affective disorder, or S.A.D. He can't help having this, but he can get a special full-spectrum light that can help him, he can use it every day when it's gloomy out, and it will help him feel more normal. It isn't something he just chooses, to be grumpy, he really can't help it.
