Hi Guys....
I need help deciding on whether or not to take honors english.
Next year I'm planning on taking:
1. Trig
2. US History
3. AP Bio
4. Honors Spanish
5. Anatomy & Physiology
6. English (honors??)
I e-mailed the teacher and this is what he said:
Reading requirements are heavy, especially 2nd semester. We do no worksheets or other activities that students sometimes call "busy work"; everything is an authentic evaluation, no automatic points for "just doing the work." There are about 6-7 formal essays in response to literature. Tests occur seldom, about every 6 weeks. Good notetaking and study are critical. There are 2 projects and two speeches.
Anyways your opinions would be great...and if you've taken it tell me what you thought : ]

Im guessing this is for an 11th grade year right? Then yea! Go for the honors english! It looks excelent on a college application too! Your class choices look extreamely close to mine in my 11th grade year! ( Im in 11th grade now going to the 12th) except Im taking Ap english But definately yea ur a smart guy go for the Honors!!!!!

I would definately take honors. There won't be busy work, but you will actually need to study and read what you're supposed to read. Always stay up to date with what you're doing and don't fall behind. When you're doing a lot of reading assignments, the worst thing you can do is fall behind.
Definately take honors though.
You will regret it if you don't.

Wow, this courseload sounds really challenging!
Never take less than the best when it comes to your education, your time is very valuable!
If you are willing to do the work, take the class.

If you can get college credit for this class, take it! It sounds much worse than it is. It's really not that bad. Good luck!

take it. my english honor was easy. i regret not taking it last year. i'll look good on your college application anyway.

The essays...do you like to read and analyze what you have read? Themes and symbols and stuff like that?
