There were thousands of POW's imprisoned during the WW's, Vietnam, Korea... so where do the terrorist keep all their POW's? Why is there no media coverage about them? I dont buy that there are only one or two every so often caught on those "hostage" videos.

So far there is one soldier MIA.
The fact of the matter is that US troops have learned that there is no benefit to surrender. You die quicker if you go down fighting.
Sad to consider that the last time we fought an enemy with honor and who obeyed the laws of war - it was the Nazis. The people we are currently fighting could not even meet Nazi standards for civilized conduct. (But the left still calls them: 'freedom fighters.)

The bottom line is that terrorists aren't interested in taking POWs. When they capture one of our guys one of three things generally happens.
1. They are tortured and executed by brutal beheadings afterwhich their dead bodies are dragged through the streets.
2. They hold them for ransom so that they can get money to further fiance their war on the west (this is basically kidnapping)
3. They hold them too long and we go in and kick the crap out of their extremist butts and get our people back. Remember when the Brits smashed their tank through that prison to get their two soldiers?
In the other wars their were two distinct sides. Us and them. Although we have drawn our line it isn't the same type of fight that we're in. We're not fighting GERMANY or VIETNAM or KOREA. We're fighting an ideaology that has no allegiance to any government or State. Because of this we don't see the POW issue arising much because they fight by living amongst the population and blending in. Where would they keep their POWs?
This one of the foremost dynamics that makes terrorism such a huge problem for the world as whole.

They aren't taking any prisoners; they are killing them. As terrorists they are not bound by article of war.
