I just am really curious as to why people turn away from God's love when He tries so hard to bring you to His bosom. Dont they understand that it is not personal when people go to hell, and that He really can not help us unless we help ourselves? Or do they just not know that God can not be a part of sin because His being is pure. God sent His son to die for us, because He could no longer talk to us directly because of what we had become. He uses the Holy spirit to guide and influence us until the very moments until we die, simply because he truly wants to be with you for eternity. Those who think that God is the reason behind all the suffering and death in the world are accusing the wrong guy. God created us, and then we took over. He tries even to this very day, to help us but we just dont listen to His cries. Im not talking about actual cries, but dont you feel His prescence when you do something wrong or when you cry or when you are happy? I hope you all can meet Him in eternity.

The God to whom you refer has a real bad track record, lets see the first time around there was only one man in the whole world who was even close to pleasing him so he killed all the rest. Now you tell me it was not personal, well it was personal to all the people who died at the hands of a God, who supposedly created them in the first place. Would I be a
respected artist if I only sold one painting out of millions and millions I painted.

They do not understand God because they have never met him and know nothing about him in their hearts. What i find disturbing is the fact that the catholic church is drifting farther away from God. I don't know how many of them truly believe anymore. They seem to think all things wrong with us are caused by something physiological and this is a dangerous road. Once you tell yourself there is no Lucifer it is a small step to say there is no God either. To answer your question: It is a lack of understanding and immediate repercussions, or punishment by God, to sinful acts that lead people to believe there is no God. If you got punished right away, versus waiting until you die, when you did something sinful more people would believe.

Hi Jamie, I agree with you completely. The Lord has taken me through so many trials, and released me from the unimaginable. After feeling His supernatural power and love, there is no human, spirit, or being that can convince me the Lord is not worthy of love.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are influenced by demons and don't realize they are being "used" to mock and deny God.

These people have the same hate and vengeance against the Lord as Satan, and it angers them when Saints express their love and faith in the God. So they will search for Christians, and discussions about God for the sole purpose of expressing their hate, in hopes that they will weaken the faith of Believers. I've reached a point where I expect these people, and no longer allow them to worry me. I give it up to God, and let Him handle it.:)

I would say that a good number of case are not like this at all.

Are people "turning away from God" or are people "finding alternative routes"?

There is a BIG difference between:
"God's love" ,
"MY PERCEPTION of what God's love is &
MY PERCEPTION of how people should respond to it"
even "MY PERCEPTION of what GOD is!"

"In my Father's house are many mansions"...
Could be that people just decide to live in a different wing, on a different floor or even in a DIFFERENT MANSION than the one that you have chosen for yourself.

I can't speak for anybody else, but I'm sure that you would perceive my GROWTH as "turning away." Looking back, I am amazed at how constricted my comprehension was when I merely considered "God" to be an entity (even a SUPREME entity!)
.

Obvious they didn't see what you thought.god created sin according to the bible.you sure are the full blown baloney
salesman. I've heard all the pat answers over and over and they still never look at the big picture hope you wake up someday . Look up Avidya and tell the billions they are wrong even thought they began religion before your bible was even conceived .How imaginative a non existent super being granting invisible love and that's non existent as well .Get some real love and you will never return to what you think .

... who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious...

Matthew 22:14
"For many are called, but few are chosen."

I understand your heart for them. I think that those who have seen His love for them know about Him, but do not enter into relationship to really know Him. The tares of fear of the unknown and guilt from sin seems to stop the growth of the love of God within them. By their own will, they have left the narrow way. Some are simply predestined not to enter His rest. God alone chooses who He will forgive and invite to accept His gift of reconciliation. I hope that all can meet Him as well. May God bless you and give you peace.

2 Peter 3:9
"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

John 3:18-20
"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed."

I can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you why I turned away. I eventually came back again, but I turned away because I thought that I had sinned so badly that even God would not forgive that one. I felt like I was too terrible to deserve His love. I felt that I was lower than everyone else. Like you said- "I" took over. I was afraid that if I listened to what God had to say about me, that I would not be able to take what He would say. During that time that I spent away from church, I had a desert experience of my own. I lived alone, so I had a lot to time alone with God. Occasionally, I would hear that someone was ill or hurt. I would pray on their behalf and ask God to help them because I knew that God did not want THEM to be sick. That would open a door of communication and eventually I began to realise that it was terrible of me to assume that God would want me to be sick. Of course He didn't want me to be sick, either! Then I started to realise that I needed to be less focused on how "I" feel about me and focus more about how "He" feels about me. The real God--The loving God. The ALL forgiving God. Not an angry God that I had imagined.

God does not try so hard to bring me to his bosom. In fact I'm Egyptian:

Ex 11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel

Satan uses all kinds of things to take our sight off of God. He uses circumstances and situations to break our communication with God. That is why after you are saved it is vital to pray and read so that we can grow spiritually. Some Christians never grow and when trial come they fail. We just need to stay close to God and pray. Don't be frustrated because of all the negative stuff. Just strive to do your best.

Thank you Jamie.. You are very sweet and your heart is in the right place. It is very frustrating and you can try to spread His good word for your whole life through but there are going to be those people who will not listen to you. They will deny Him until the day they die and when that day comes, their eyes will then be open. God appreciates you trying to communicate and spread His glory and for honoring His name... and you try. I know how upsetting it is to see athiests and others putting us down, but just stay strong. Those who fail to listen to us who try to save them now will have no choice to believe when they are faced with the truth on that fateful day. God bless you as well, dear.
