Try opening it in Notepad*.

Start > Run
Type "notepad"
Click OK.
Select File > Open in Notepad.
Near the bottom of the dialog, change the "Files of type" to "All Files."
Navigate to your DAT file. Select it and click Open.

Maybe it will. Maybe it won't, but I am guessing it will.

(*or plain-text (!) editor.)

There is so many types of DAT files

DAT Data file

it will open in notepad

DAT A data file extension used to designate an error message in a inbound internet email message (Microsoft Exchange Server v 5.0)
it will open in notepad

DAT WordPerfect Merge Data
notepad /msword

DAT Extension used for some MPEG files
windows media player

DAT Yahoo Messenger archive file
in archive file in notepad

which DAT file ur asking movie? ok just got to the DAT file and double click it or first open window media player and go to open file and searxh for this DAT file say s to it that all

if it's a Movie file you can open in with Windows Media Player, else use Notepad to open it.

Right click on the file and select "Open With" choose the program to open it with. Remember to deselect the "Always use the selected program".

if it is a data file then open with microsoft excel. If it is a movie file open with media player

you can see or open all type of files even EXE files too by EDIT command. Gogo MS DOS promot type EDIT then type the name of the file you have to see...........
