I just got a *mohawk* it's actually more of a fauxhawk.... But I just got it the other day and I am having trouble getting it up and to stay up in the morning... I loved how that lady did it when I got it, but I can't do it near as well..... Anybody got any tips to getting my mohawk to stand up and look good, easily... It's also gotta be somewhat quick, because I have school... Get up about 5:30-6:00 in the AM and get on the bus at 7:30....

Melt a Viagra in water, then massage the water into your hair. Your hair should be standing tall and proud within a half hour. WARNING: If you hair stays stiff for more than 4 hours, seem professional hairdresser advice.

So, I am a hair stylist, and when I cut a mohawk or spikes for hair, I throw some gel in it and some hair spray. I use the blow dryer to get some of the moisture out because that is what will be weighing it down. So, do that, then re-spray it. It'll work. Use a firm hold gel and a firm hold spray.

This will sound dumb but use more hair gel. Use the extreme hold types of hair gel. You need it to be windproof!!! Otherwise, the hair will soften throughout the day and will fall flat. Look for products that specialize in spiking.

Use the hair gel to get it to stand the way you want. Then use a ultra hold hair spray to lock it in. Yes, you will use two products at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Are mohawks still "in"? Anyway, I think they sell a special gel in drugstores that's supposed to work really well. I forget the name but it's something like "hair glue" or something. They might know at the counter.

You can use Elmers glue...lol, it is used to stand hair up, or bar soap...

But I'd try going back to the salon where you had your hair done, and look for a professional product, like Bed Head, or Red...ask for some Mud...or hair glue...

Mud doesn't take a hair dryer to hold it, but glue will......

A hint: any product that says hair glue, is just about the equivalent of Elmers school glue...I promise ya! So save your money...

Get some 'FUDGE' (hair product) available from most supermarkets, chemist and hairdressers, your Mohawk will stay up until you wash it.. I use it on my son's hair and it works a treat..
Good Luck

Back in the 80s when everyone had mowhawks, they used Knox Gelatin. (by the Jello in the supermarket)

Let it dry naturally. Do not touch it. Then use aerosol hairspray (Rave 4x) and lightly spray it. Wait a few minutes, then style it with your hands, then put a final heavy spray on it.

You have to have product in it. Hair wax works really well. My ex-boyfriend had a huge mo-hawk, and he used elmers glue to get it to stand straight up.
