Ever since I got a concussion in 3rd grade (now i'm an 11th grader) I've had headaches very regularly. But it's strange the ammount of headaches will increase over a period of about a month and then decline and rise again... Now I have headaches maybe 3 times in 2-4 hours. I dont wanna go to the doctor yet till i know what's going on. I just dont understand it... sometimes they're really bad like migranes and then sometimes they're dull and annoying but they vary in places on my head, but for some reason always on the left side... I cant remember what side i was hit on but i know that ever since then I've been having headaches regularly and I used to never have any before the accident. Any information would be helpfull , thank you.

Your headaches are of sufficient frequency and severity that it would be very foolish NOT to go to the doctor. Expecting to get a reliable, definitive and safe answer to a health question on Answers is potentially dangerous under these circumstances.

You need to see a health professional, be examined and have some blood tests!

The likely outcome statistically is probably migraine, but it is not the only option. If you are getting migraines this often you would benefit from a migraine protector drug. These are only available with a GP prescription.

Have you considered massage therapy? It can actually be quite amazing how much you can learn about your body structure and muscle complications from one. If you go to a certified and registered therapist they should be able to let you know if it's a neck problem. Many people get severe to moderate headaches at strange times because of the muscles in the neck. When these muscles tense and get "trigger points" it can cause headaches. Go try it out, if it isn't muscular they will be able to recommend a doctor/chiropractor/accupuncturist that could help. (If you hurt your head long ago, it could still affect you through imbalances in your structures and getting those corrected could help.) Hormones can also cause headaches, so ask about that if you are still at a loss. Good luck, headaches are an aweful thing to live with.

Headaches are awful.

I suffer from headaches a lot. I get these horrid migraines where I seriously just can't think and I have to curl up and do absolutely nothing.

If you get them frequently, honestly, I'd reccomend going to the doctor. I got an MRI done of my brain and it didn't show anything wrong..and the doctor's are stumped about what's wrong with me.

But defenitely go get checked out. If you were to have soomething like a tumor (which I highly hope you don't), it's good to get it checked out right away.

Good luck!

GO TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY AND INSIST ON BEING REFERRED TO HOSPITAL. Dont wait till you "know whats going on". Persisent headaches occur for a number of reasons. Eyesight problems, lack of water to the brain (hangover but other things cause this). Bruise, trauma, tiredness, stress bleeding . Anything that alters the pressure in the fluid between your brain and your skull will cause a headache. Your brain gets bigger/smaller and causes the pressure in the fluid in your skull to alter.

A very good friend of mine has just been diagnosed with brain cancer got a tumour that had altered the pressure in the head. Didn't think anything of the headaches he was getting until he collapsed. GET HELP TODAY!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

Are you working a lot on the computer?
I used to get sudden headaches which got better once I got glasses.
I can imagine that it might be annoying to see a doc, but when you go there you will stop worrying, because he willl be able to put your mind at ease.

You should definitely see a doctor..
Do you wear glasses..If not that might be it too..The concussion might of affected your eyesight..
If you have headaches in the back of your head, it might be your blood pressure..
Either way, you should see a doctor..
There's nothing worse than a migraine..They can be totally debilitating..
