some home truths
politicians and scientists who work for politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many people income, and most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.
: i have seen lands that have been turned from jungle into desserts by people in a matter of a couple of years ,because of the slash and burn method used by settlers and expanding agriculture, and i have seen rivers dry up because of deforrestation in many places in Africa and Mexico ,
i live now by the side of a river in Mexico where,in 30 years 5 species of fish have become exstinct .
and part of the year the river is dry this is for longer every year because of over use of water by agriculture and as a result of deforrestation.
there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification
in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,
as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.
Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use

It certainly appears that this might be happening, but it may also be a brief cycle. If it is happening, we may be making a small contribution to Global warming, but there are so many other contributing factors that cause this phenomenon. This a cycle that earth has gone through many times during it's history. We can't really start it or stop it. During these cycles Florida and the lower mid west of the U.S. has been under the ocean several times, and more than likely will be again. This is because the melting ice caps can raise the oceans several hundred feet. To prove this, they have found marine fossils in these areas. The person above me says "lets not kill earth". Global warming can't kill earth, just life as we know it on earth. Human life has been on the earth for less than a million years, a blink of an eye, compared to the dinosaurs 160 million year reign. The earth has gone through several mass extinctions, but it is still here, but maybe we won't be.

I think that global warming is indeed real; it is happening. I've watched lots of documentaries on it, and the facts they show, sound real and true. I've also done some research, and of course some information may be biased, but for the most part, the world is getting warmer.
Now as far as us being the only problem, I think that's not true. I think that the world would be getting warmer whether we were in the equation or not, but I think that since we are... with all the gas burning, tree chopping, oil spilling, coral reef killing, ice melting, we are doing, I think we are making it go faster...

The biggest problem is CFC's and the world must clean them up. I sent this letter to Al Gore:
Putting the technology together to start cleaning up and reintroducing new ozone to the atmosphere is possible. The cost and size of this project means taking a long term commitment. I am proposing the biggest cleanup in history. Al, I do not see any proposal that is realistic or proven at any cost, not even Washington can solve this problem. But if every person on earth does his or her share, we may be ok. Never-the-less, I see governments acting like a deer in a car’s headlights and people doing the same thing. The inevitable is almost upon us. Cleanup and change is the only option.
The first cleanup machine starts with a ten billion dollars investment. Ten year later with twenty-five machines operating, these machines will produce enough ozone to replace both holes at the poles. But more importantly, these machines will remove chemicals that deplete the ozone. Beyond making ozone, decreasing the poisons that deplete ozone, these machines reduce the major greenhouse gases and unbelievably we can have all this for fewer than one hundred billion dollars.
Beyond cleaning up our atmospheric mess as I am suggesting, we humans must do a better job reducing or cleaning up carbon monoxide, collecting and storing methane and ethane for fuel, burning less of everything, cleaning up our forests and using more solar insolation. Solar steam electric generators are the type of systems we need and are 90 percent efficient and near 100 percent if heat recovery is used. I believe nearly 30,000 MW are needed in the USA and Mexico over the next 30 years. This opens the door to new electric cars, new construction vital to our way of life, new bullet trains, and these industries produce new high paying jobs. From small scale solar generators on malls, to 2000 acre collector sights, these systems are viable and ready for production. The Federal Government must give up some land, money and have less regulation to help save the planet from disaster.
Al, spreading the message that we can help ourselves is a key to the development of these businesses. Washington can help: the businesses need grants, patents, land and regulations. Congress must create a pollution surcharge. From gas, coal, diesel, wood to cooling towers, from cattle, other ranches to cigarettes, from agriculture burning to airplane passengers, this surcharge can fund parts of these projects and many stationary pollution control devices in general.
Your personal support is very important to getting the atmosphere cleanup started and developing sights for solar generators.

Global warming is very real with urbanization and cities getting larger yes global warming is a big problem. A greater and growing population increases the need for gasoline and electricity. As citizens of the world we can't just turn a blind eye to global warming we have to do something about the problem and encourage renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and biomass. Education is the key to understanding global warming.

Global Warming is real and we all can feel it as the different temperature between the past and now. The heat from the sun is trapped inside the atmosphere and nobody is doing the right thing. Moreover they are some Idiot businessman still planing to put their hand on to the forest ( deforestation). If i am a president of Earth i will ask those Businessman to plant the tree before they will cut it and see how long does it take to have a huge tree that they are cutting down this days.. ( Sorry for my poor english standard)

I go to school in Tucson, but am from the northeast- I think global warming is questionable only because earth has gone through many periods of time during which the temperature has changed drastically (i.e. the ice age) and humans didn't have any influence during those times. I feel as though this is just a natural process occuring in the world rather than an event we have any control over.

I think that our planet goes through stages and "mood" swings in a pendulum action (swinging back and forth) we will get various climate changes and -"up sweeps" continually for years to come
I think "Man" has a lot to do with climate change but not necessarily Global warming onto himself.
I think the root cause of any social problem is "mans" fault-
poverty
water shortage
water pollution
air pollution
war
etc..
I think the world is OVER populated and something needs to be done about it
we need a Global disaster unfortunately
so Global Warming might be a good thing
(HOW sad for mankind)

I think global warming does not exist. The reason that I think this is because humans have only kept record of the weather for a little over 100 years. Who are we to say that it does exist. The earth is billions of years old and it has had weather changes all of the time. I think it is a natural occurrence because the earth has had about 4 ice ages.to cause such a high temperature increase that would take 100's of years of pollution while the industrial revaluation happened about 150 years ago.

Well with NASA reporting that the surface temp. on the planet Mars has increased over the past 3 years, I think it could be UNIVERSE WARMING, instead of GLOBAL WARMING, In that case, I guess our cows passing gas is not actually warming the globe and I know our cars are not warming the surface of Mars, unless the people up there have cars, in that case we can send some of our libs up there to aggravate them for awhile

Nope. Not real now or ever was. It's a paranoid delusion that happened to get undeserved attention from the liberal press and gained a 'life' of it's own. People didn't used to pay any attention to those quacks. Quacks are always ranting about ridiculous unimportant, trivial, and imagined things that interrupt their 'train of thought' away from things they really should worry about, like their sanity, or rather lack of it, or the proper ways to raise their kids.
Ohio in the greatest country in the world, good ol' U.S.A.! There are other good countries in the world, but they are not America!
America had a great drought in the 1930s and lesser ones after that. But we recovered from the minor inconveniences, and so will Australia, my friend. What worries me about Australia is the evil intent of the (radical) Muslims who want Aussies to live under the sandals of Islam. And I couldn't believe that you sat slack jawed while your govt. took your guns away! What were you people thinking??
