Of course it does and that's the intention.

i think that certain religious groups dont really have a problem with a gays but are actually just making a fuss out of it for there own profit. For one example is that curchs and fathers wouldnt b able to make as much money if people started haveing same sex marrages becuase the church constitues marrage as something between a man and woman. So how would they make money if man and man wanted to be wed or woman and woman wanted to be wed.

By providing a religious endorsement of bigotry the effect is to justify bigoted acts as carrying out the will of god just as some antiabortion religious nuts feel justified in murdering abortion clinic employees. This emboldering through "religious justifiection" makes them more dangerous since they feel justified in their acts.

no. People are more than capable of offering an opinion on something without beating people up and I resent this post because it is trying to sway opinion for legislation to outlaw saying anything against gays which is against the Constitution.

Absolutely. Homophobes use it as an excuse. Its horrible. I also think they (the homophobes) feel guilty for being closet cases and that incites violence.

No religious groups would ever promote violence against gays, but a cult would do such a evil thing.

Well.. I think that is more based on individuals and small groups... Not whole religions. I am against gay marriage, but never violent or hateful towards those who are gay.
