"Jaycees" stands for Junior Chamber of Commerce. They are a cadet branch of the Chambers of Commerce that exist to facilitate capitalists like themselves.
It seems fairly obvious that an organization dedicated to the promotion of business must be politically conservative. Some areas may have a renegade populist or two, but every chamber I have dealt with has been conservative since Adam.
