i like this girl and iv been talking to her for a few months now. i have one problem, she doesn't talk much. i keep the ball rolling on conversations but she almost always answers with one word answers and almost never elaborates. i even talk about the stuff she likes too. funny how she said that she doesnt like having awkward silent moments on the phone, so ironic when shes causing it. so is it just me and my converstion skills or is it her? how can i get her to talk to me more? almost everyone would open up by now, but its so strange how she doesnt. is it possible that she likes me and doesnt know what to say?

btw, she seems to be very open with her other friends. i try not to answer with one word answers, at least i dont think i do, even if, ill work on it. i am also afraid to elaborate too much about myself because i fear that she will think im too self centered and i might bore her. it also doesnt seem like she wants to avoid me either since she would leave me comments here and there.

Oftentimes, it is a learned behavior within the family that a person is not a conversationalist. Then again, she might just enjoy listening to your voice, or admire the eloquence of your conversation. She may be timid to speak to the opposite sex for fear of sounding stupid. Also, her problem may be that she is at a loss for words.
But, whatever the deal is, if you really like this girl, then continue to speak with her. The more that she gets to know you, and the more comfortable that she becomes with you, she will loosen up and possibly share her innermost thoughts and feelings with you. Just continue to lead her in conversation and who knows, you may one day take her for your beloved (wife).

Not everyone communicates well verbally. For some people it is a coordination deficit that results in a lisp or slur. For others it is a language deficit, and for others still it is a cognitive deficit.
This wouldn't necessarily mean she is a boring individual, but she may have difficulty expressing her thoughts to others. When speaking with someone like this, go at their pace and try your best to be comfortable with the slowed down interaction, or resulting silence.
If she sees that you can enjoy the silence rather than feel awkward, she may actually open up and talk more..

Don't be so mean, she's just shy, I'm like that, maybe you are asking yes and no questions, maybe you should be the one elaborating. It's a conversation problem. And she has a social problem. Make her open up more, my best friend made me open up more, but just a little bit. Don't blame everything on her.

hate to say it- but either she doesn't particularly like talking to you...or...
She could just be really shy and kind of a private person. I have friends like this- don't take it personally! If she seems to like you, then this is most definitely the case. Try hanging out with her more and asking her some deeper questions.

Have you ever tried asking her questions she cant answer with one word? Or asking her to elaborate?
You know what? maybe you just arent a good match for each other. It shouldnt be that hard to talk to someone you like.

its very possible i dated a girl once that sounded just like her and she never got out of it and when i broke up with her she was so hurt and couldnt believe i want to stop dating her

she is probably just nervous still....some girls r diffrent and r just liek that...she wouldnt talk to u if she wasnt interested..........she just probably doesnt wanna say ne thing stupid in front of u..................she'll open up just give her time
