do you think that people who commit horrific crimes should have the same treatment inflicted upon them that their victims were made to endure???
for example severe animal cruelty, i.e dog fighting, dont you think the people who do this should be locked up in a pit with a very aggressive pit bull and have the pit rip them to shreds??
be made to starve etc
the same treatment should go for rapists, peodophiles, murderers etc
i really think this would work!!! what do you think??

people who do these horrific dog fights etc may only get a few months in prison and or a slapped wrist, thats **** all compared to what those dogs had to put up with.
dont think you get my point.

Honestly i have had the same thoughts. But then how are we better then the criminal that commited the act. I know that just taking thier freedom and time doesnt compare in the least to thier crime. But that is the way the law works. It is thought that if we deal with them this way (prison, jail time, etc) that we are a better kind then as to put them through the same crime they commited. Hey i am with you all the way just to let you know...remember that Karma is a *****. Some convicted rapests are forced to pick up the soap if you know what i mean.

No, because this would make you as cruel as they are. Violence will never stop. In Albania for instance they have the tradition of the ''blood feud'' - if someone is killed from a family, then a life must be taken in the family of the killer. And then again, and again, and they end up killing each other for ages.
Also, Mark Twain describes a feud like this in one of his books (Huckleberry Fin I think).
It is also technically impossible. How do you punish a paedophile doing to him the same thing he has done to a child? You cannot take him back in his childhood, and even if you could, would it be fair to do anything bad to a kid? What would that make you?
A civilised society should have other ways to discipline its members - not through torture or death.

Yes, an eye for an eye! It has to be a controlled environment of course but who knows it may just be the deterrent they need cause the laws & sentences in pkace now sure don't scare them!

Well. killing killers doesn't work and it costs an awful lot of taxpayer money. I'm more in favor of long prison terms in prisons that had to be self supporting by means of inmate labor. Not "make work" real labor for money that also teaches skills and precludes any foolishness like gang involvement in prison. Punishment isn't the answer, but restitution through honest labor might.

As long as the state is 100% sure that person is guilty. Go for it. Sounds babaric, but it nips the behavior right in the bud.

Your conclusion has no support.
You know what prison is like? Ever hear the saying "don't pick up the soap?"
If the fear of going to prison doesn't stop them, the threat of putting them into a pit with some dog won't either.
The death penalty doesn't stop killers does it?

One part of me thinks no, because that would make us as bad as them.........
The other part of me thinks yeah that could work. Only with the paedophiles I would lock them in a room full of mothers. All armed with razor blades....
