1 John 5:14-16

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

If you know that someone has committed unforgivable sins then it would be wrong for you to pray God to forgive them this!

Sinning against the Holy Spirit, having no faith, and the practice of sin constitute unforgivable sins.

Usually, it is difficult for humans to decide if this line has been crossed; however, it would have been wrong to pray for Judas Iscariot - since he was the son of perdition.

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. This sin cannot be committed by the average Joe for it requires a sure knowledge of God and then denying God. Only people like Moses who actually stood in the presence of God could actually do this. This was the sin that Satan committed that got him cast out.
